changing seasons
in some way, this Fall has been one of the most special ones on record.
being up in my hometown for this rich season has corralled me into a space of utter love.
It has given me moments of coffee dates and working the rice harvest with my dad, long walks in the park with my sister, deep discussions and dress up parties with my brother at his new house, and yard sale adventures with my mom.
I spent a lot of time in Bidwell Park, one the nations largest city parks, that dances along the river, with
scattered sycamores and oaks, peppered with lovely golden grass and berry bushes.
I swear in the Autumn Bidwell Park is one of the most beautiful sites this side of heaven.
and I had the opportunity to photograph some family Christmas pictures there, which was pure gold:)
but what I've also been learning is how the changing seasons are much like a spiritual reality.
we get stuck in a cold and dark "winter" of our life,
and begin to believe satan's biggest lie,
that things.will.never.change.
But isn't that the beauty of Fall's first golden hues bursting forth,
or the almond blossoms bursting into snowy life and covering a naked space with robes of splendor?
that not only seasons change, but they transform with gusto,
in richness and blessing and freshness.
Oh,
but just as the natural reality of seasons is true and alive,
so is our spiritual life.
We will be ushered into the golden rays of summer,
and our heart will learn to live and breath and
enjoy
life again.
Seasons offer hope,
time and time again:)
happy November friends,
love Katie
